What inspired this piece? Aloe Vera, aloe vera, aloe vera! Our home was exploding with growth, aloe vera plants were abundant and happy. Letting my mind wander, the theme of growth took over after the first aloe vera plant was drawn, my imagination spilled forth. Cells and division, seeds spreading, plants reaching. Almost psychedelic, vibrant blue and purple aloe vera plants bursting in coloured pencil across a chaotic (mostly) green background of exploding plant life.

Anxiety is a series that started as a way for me to disconnect from my anxiety and reconnect with my creativity. My inspiration for these pieces was always found nearby, more precisely from the comfort of ‘my spot on the couch’ — I started by drawing something within view and what followed was a surprise, even to me. Each piece is an act of letting go, letting my mind be free and seeing where my hand and my unconscious mind lead me. This print is from the Anxiety collection.
