Wave

What inspired this piece? The small sliver of the Halifax Harbour that I could see from our apartment windows and the waves! Oh the waves! The sea is in my blood. Some mornings I can smell the salt in the air when I wake. No matter if it is calm waters or stormy seas, I find that waves are part of me. Rolling waves captured in coloured pencil, an ocean art print with peace at its heart.

Anxietea is a series that started as a way for me to disconnect from my anxiety and reconnect with my creativity. My inspiration for these pieces was always found nearby, more precisely from the comfort of ‘my spot on the couch’ — I started by drawing something within view and what followed was a surprise, even to me. Each piece is an act of letting go, letting my mind be free and seeing where my hand and my unconscious mind lead me. This print is from the Anxietea collection.
