About The Art
What inspired this piece? Summers bountiful flowers transform throughout the seasons. Drawn simply from coloured pencil, a delicate swirl of petals blend together in all the colours of the rainbow. The tactile element of repeating the same simple petal shape over and over again was both fun and soothing. Can you feel the calm wash over you and ground your vessel?
Anxiety is a series that started as a way for me to disconnect from my anxiety and reconnect with my creativity. My inspiration for these pieces was always found nearby, more precisely from the comfort of ‘my spot on the couch’ — I started by drawing something within view and what followed was a surprise, even to me. Each piece is an act of letting go, letting my mind be free and seeing where my hand and my unconscious mind lead me. This print is from the Anxiety collection.
Print of an original coloured pencil illustration.
